Why plastic-free packaging?

For the future of our children!
At Zapf Creation, we understand how important it is to avoid single-use plastic packaging and do our part to protect the environment by choosing materials that are easier to recycle.

Plastic does not belong in the environment. Of the 78 million tons of plastic packaging produced worldwide each year, 32% ends up in nature. That’s around 25 million tons—far too much. (Source: WWF 2020)

For this reason, we decided to eliminate plastic from our packaging as much as possible starting in 2021.

But aren’t our dolls made of plastic? Does this even make sense?

Of course, it does!

Unlike packaging, which is usually discarded, a doll accompanies a child for many years. A favorite doll is often even passed down from mother to child.

What does plastic-free packaging mean for Zapf Creation?

• No plastic blisters
• No plastic fastenings
• No plastic windows in packaging
• Minimal use of adhesive tape
• Printing on paper and cardboard with water-based inks

What does plastic-free packaging mean for you as a customer?

You still receive a high-quality product.

No more plastic windows, but large images that ideally show the product in a 1:1 scale. 
Frustration-free unboxing experience.
The packaging can simply be disposed of in the paper recycling bin.
